The Silly Bunny

THE STORY BEHIND.

The Silly Bunny is a unique tale, crafted by the imagination of a six-year-old girl almost three decades ago.

“When I was six years old, I complained to my mother after reading a fairytale that it was not very interesting. She replied, “Then write a better one!” Thus, this book was born. Nearly 30 years have passed and I’ve decided to publish this story and dedicated it to my daughter Olivia. I want her to know that nothing is impossible for her and she can do anything in the world.”

At Noomo, we were excited to design a captivating website for the beloved children's book, "The Silly Bunny." Our goal was to bring this cherished tale to life in a magical digital world, where imagination knows no limits.

BRINGING FAIRYTALE TO LIFE.

Our journey began with the book design, where we carefully crafted the main characters and brought the story to life through illustrations. After numerous brainstorming sessions and sketches, we settled on the adorable "big head" bunny as the main character, captivating the hearts of children aged 2 to 5 years.

To complement the physical book and engage readers in an unforgettable way, we decided to incorporate Augmented Reality (AR) on the website. Our goal was to introduce users to the magical world of The Silly Bunny even before they held the book in their hands. By combining 3D and 2D illustrations, animations, and charming transitions, we sought to blur the line between reality and the fairytale.

KEY DESIGN SOLUTIONS.

To create an engaging and enchanting website, we employed a mix of creative elements:

1. We seamlessly integrated 3D and 2D illustrations, forging a strong connection between the physical book, website, and AR experience. By merging these styles, we achieved a harmonious and captivating visual journey.
   
2. We implemented AR experiences on the website, allowing users to interact with the beloved characters from The Silly Bunny. By using hidden QR codes, we added an element of exploration and surprise, enticing users to uncover all the magical secrets.
   
3. Our designers remeshed the 3D models and compressed textures to ensure smooth performance on the website. By tying animations to user scroll actions, we allowed users to influence the movement, adding an interactive element.
   
4. Transitions between website sections were carefully designed to enchant users. We employed three.js to add a touch of magic, revealing content in a captivating and seamless manner.

The Silly Bunny's website truly became a digital wonderland, captivating visitors with its enchanting visuals, interactive AR experiences, and delightful transitions. By blending the worlds of reality and fantasy, we crafted a digital experience that celebrates the heartwarming story and encourages readers to believe in the limitless power of imagination.
