For one night only, fans attending the LA Clippers game were invited to mint a free digital collectible, powered by Coinbase and built by Noomo. The experience was designed to be fast, mobile-first, and deeply integrated with the rhythm of the game itself. As the tension on the court built toward a dramatic last-second victory, fans were simultaneously able to claim a unique on-chain NFT — not just as a keepsake, but as a ticket to real-world perks, including exclusive jerseys and the chance to meet Kawhi Leonard during the game. It was Web3 in real-time, brought to life in the heart of the arena.

Bringing the energy of game night into fans’ hands

Coinbase and the LA Clippers joined forces to launch a special game-day digital collectible — available only during a home game that ended with a dramatic last-second win. Noomo helped power the tech behind the scenes, creating an on-chain experience that was fast, smooth, and mobile-first. Fans could mint a unique, free NFT tied to the game — and by doing so, unlock exclusive perks, like limited jerseys and a shot at meeting the Clippers’ star, Kawhi Leonard, live at the arena.

This wasn’t about selling a digital product. It was about using Web3 tech to create a moment — one that lived both on-chain and courtside.

Making on-chain minting effortless

The experience was built around accessibility. Whether fans were already deep into crypto or minting an NFT for the very first time, the process had to be frictionless. That meant no downloads, no setup complexity, and no wallet confusion — just a few taps on mobile to claim a collectible tied directly to the live game.

Our team developed a custom smart contract and handled the entire on-chain flow, ensuring the platform worked in sync with Coinbase Wallet and was fully aligned with NBA requirements. Everything was optimized for mobile, with performance tested under real stadium conditions — so fans could mint in seconds, even on spotty Wi-Fi and packed networks.

Video-led, fan-first experience

Unlike our Warriors project — which was built in 3D — this one was centered around high-quality video. Still, we brought the same level of care and polish to the details. We added subtle visual touches, like a soft glow effect on the 3D basketball, giving the experience a layer of finesse that elevated the drop without distracting from the content.
The collectible itself wasn’t just a static token — it was a live moment from the game, turned into a digital memory fans could own. And for ten lucky holders, it unlocked a golden ticket: a chance to meet Kawhi Leonard right there in the arena.

A win, on and off the court

The drop went off without a hitch. The minting experience was fast, intuitive, and delivered real value to fans — not just in utility, but in excitement. The collectible was claimed by fans in just a few hours, and the golden ticket winners got a courtside experience they’ll never forget.
And of course, the cherry on top: the Clippers took the win in the final seconds — turning the digital moment into a truly unforgettable one.
